Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to enter a binding agreement in your location. You are responsible for your device and Apple Account security, the accuracy of information you enter, and activity performed through your access.

Use and safety

Van Companion is an organizational and travel-information tool. Do not interact with the app while driving or when doing so would be unsafe or unlawful. Do not rely on Van Companion as your only source of navigation, clearance, emergency, medical, mechanical, legal, tax, financial, weather, or safety information. Confirm critical information with authoritative sources and qualified professionals.

Weather information

YOUR USE OF THIS REAL TIME WEATHER GUIDANCE APPLICATION OR WEBSITE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. WEATHER DATA MAY NOT BE ACCURATE.

Apple Weather data may vary from actual conditions due to variable factors, such as signal issues and geopolitical events, that can affect its accuracy. Van Companion is not designed or marketed for emergency or life-saving purposes.

Plans and Apple subscriptions

Basic features are available without a paid subscription. Enhanced is offered for $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year in the United States. Premium is offered for $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year in the United States. Apple displays the current localized price before you confirm a purchase.

New users receive a 30-day Premium Preview inside Van Companion. The preview does not require a purchase or payment method, expires automatically, and does not begin an Apple subscription. When the preview ends, Basic remains available for free unless you choose an Enhanced or Premium subscription.

Enhanced and Premium are auto-renewing subscriptions purchased through Apple. The app’s purchase screen shows the product name, billing period, current localized price, and any Apple promotional or introductory offer for which Apple determines you are eligible before you confirm a purchase.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. A subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and Apple charges the account for renewal within 24 hours before that period ends. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings. Refund requests and billing disputes for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies. Paid access continues through the applicable subscription term unless Apple refunds or revokes the transaction.

Pilot and Co-Pilot sharing

Premium permits one Pilot-owned shared workspace and one invited Co-Pilot. The Pilot controls the invitation and remains the workspace owner. The invited Co-Pilot receives shared-workspace and app access at no extra cost while the Pilot’s Premium subscription is active. A separate subscription owned by the Co-Pilot does not extend the Pilot’s workspace term.

Both people may edit shared information, so invite only someone you trust. Either person should review access when circumstances change. Private journals and credentials identified as private in the app are not included in the shared workspace.

Your content and acceptable use

You retain ownership of information and files you enter. You grant Van Companion permission to process that content only as needed to provide and support the service. You represent that you have the right to use and share anything you submit. Do not use the service unlawfully, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, distribute malware, or infringe another person’s rights.

Third-party and Apple services

Some features rely on Apple services or link to third-party information and websites. Those services may have separate terms and privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or content.

ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI. Van Companion is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI. If you choose Open ChatGPT, Van Companion opens the external ChatGPT website; it does not automatically transmit your Van Companion data to OpenAI. Your use of ChatGPT is governed by OpenAI’s Terms of Use.

Our intellectual property

Van Companion, its software, design, branding, and content supplied by us are owned by Van Companion LLC or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership.

Availability, suspension, and changes

We may maintain, improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary and as permitted by law. We may restrict access for misuse, security risk, legal requirements, or material violation of these Terms. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, Van Companion LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, lost profits, or losses caused by reliance on user-entered or third-party information. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow us to limit.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. The revised date above identifies the latest version, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
